Whether you are enrolled in our MCAT Prep Course or not, you are welcome to meet with a premed advisor to discuss strategies for MCAT preparation. Not every student will need to enroll in a prep course in order to succeed on the MCAT. The MCAT Prep Workshop focuses on further developing a student’s problem-solving and independent reasoning skills. The approach of the course assumes that students have completed, or are in the process of completing, coursework that covers the basic concepts that appear on the MCAT exam. Please note that the MCAT 2015 Prep Workshop is not a substitute for completing college-level coursework in the content areas to be covered on the revised MCAT 2015 exam. Please see the teacher biographies below for more information. The teachers of our workshop are all experienced college instructors, with expertise in their respective areas of MCAT preparation. Unfortunately, this course will not work for students planning to take the current MCAT on dates through January 2015 (the revised exam will be introduced in April 2015). Students register for either a Monday night or Wednesday night session. It will run from the week of Septemto April 8, 2015. The course is designed to help students prepare to take the revised MCAT in spring or summer 2015.

Students enrolled in the course will be provided one AAMC practice exam and class handouts free of charge (only one new exam for the revised test is scheduled to be released by the AAMC this year). Books are not included in the cost of the course, and must be purchased separately (available online). The course fee is $650 and will be charged to your bursar’s account. The course will begin the week of September 29, 2014. Emphasis will be placed on critical thinking and independent reasoning skills, as well as test-taking strategies.
Each instructor will design his/her section of the course to help students develop the tools needed for success on the exam.
The instructors for the course have thoroughly analyzed the guidelines provided by the AAMC on the foundational concepts to be tested in order to determine what skills students will need. The Kaplan MCAT Complete 7-Book Subject Review set will be used as well to guide review of important concepts. We will use the recently-released Official Guide to the MCAT Exam (MCAT 2015), as the most authoritative resource regarding what content is expected to appear on the new exam. HPPLC’s MCAT Prep Workshop has been re-designed to help prepare students to succeed on the MCAT 2015 Revised Exam.
